My goal for 2024 was to read 50 books. That’s been my goal for the past few years. It seems reasonable. I didn’t finish a book at all in August or September of 2024. Looking back I can’t think of what was going on, but I have a few books that I DNF.
By the end of the year, I started to track things in The StoryGraph as well as Goodreads. I like that I don’t have to manually log anything in Goodreads, but I think that The StoryGraph seems more up to date and has better challenges. I also like their graphs for each month. I’m tenisiam on The StoryGraph and tenisiadavis on Goodreads.
Here’s my list:
- Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King by Joyce William (this was a mommy-daughter read)

My highest rated book of the year was A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. My oldest daughter and niece were reading this series and they convinced me to read them. I really enjoyed them.
Whenever it looks like I won’t reach my reading goal, I start reading romance books. They are quick books that I can read in a day or two and if they are well written, I can fall in love and smile.
The books that stayed with me the most was Shogun and Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow.
I really enjoyed Ina Garten’s memoir and once I finished, I started watching her show all over again.
My reading goal for 2025 will be 50 books again. I may re-read the Game of Thrones series or the Wheel of Time series. I can never go wrong with them.
I will try to read a couple of classics this year as well.
I hope that you met your reading goals for 2024.
Happy Reading!
